Two-Week Response Deadline for Adjustments
The Work and Pensions Committee has called for employers to have a two-week legal deadline to respond to disabled workers' reasonable adjustment requests, with refusals explained in writing.
This is not yet law, but it signals a clear shift in expectations. Reasonable adjustments are moving away from informal conversations and towards clearer response standards, written decisions and accountability.
For organisations, the message is simple: good intentions are no longer enough. Employers need a reliable way to receive requests, record decisions, track progress and show that support has been followed through.
AXS Passport was built for this kind of challenge. It helps organisations move from scattered emails and informal manager conversations to a more structured adjustment process.
