Digital Adjustment Passports Gain Recognition for Scalable Inclusion
Business Disability Forum has recognised the growing role of digital workplace adjustment passports in supporting scalable disability inclusion across employment, education, and public services.
Unlike static records, independent digital accessibility tools reduce repetitive disclosure, minimise administrative burden, and enable consistent documentation of reasonable adjustments across organisational transitions.
The report makes an important distinction: adjustment passports do not remove an employer’s legal duty to assess reasonable adjustments individually. Their effectiveness depends on manager awareness, leadership accountability, and integration within HR systems.
Where supported by governance frameworks and structured implementation processes, digital passports can strengthen transparency, reduce dispute risk, and improve employee experience. Where unsupported culturally, impact may be limited.
The direction of travel is clear. Structured, digital documentation is increasingly recognised as an enabler of compliant and scalable accessibility management.
